It runs deeper than overcoming something.
It is more than winning.
It is even past learning to lose with grace.
It flies in the face of victimhood.
Victory. True victory.
We can experience overcoming.
We can overcome the work of destroyers that we have faced in life.
And with Christ’s help… the parts of our hearts can find fresh rain to begin again — to begin anew.
With us.
When our parts are at war with one another, that can be a hell beyond hell.
I’m speaking from experience.
Even Jesus was mindful of this I feel. If the following verse is taken in the context of the kingdoms of the heart.
“Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.”
Matthew 12:22-28, WEB
This is not a kingdom of violence. It is a kingdom of love.
A kingdom and an everlasting love shown by blood and red. Shed by an only Son who knew no sin.
He yielded not merely his own in a way.
For it is written,
“All that I have is my Father’s, and all that is my Father’s is mine.”
I like to think the Holy Spirit is included in this dynamic.
His Father and the Holy Spirit’s blood flowed through his veins.
And unto all men they yield their nature and love just as willingly as Christ yielded his nature and blood.
He is the lamb of God.
And he is also the Lion against evil.
We don’t have to be lambs to a fate we needn’t have… should we stand with the Lion.
Who bore the sins of the world.
It wasn’t just Jesus who bled long ago.
It was the Father.
It also was the Holy Spirit.
They bled so we know we don’t have too.
They bled so we didn’t have too.
And even if we do….
Just like for Jesus.
They are there.
“Father into thy hands I commit my Spirit.”
But to live in it, embrace it, and thrive in it… in victory, our preconceptions of it often have to change.
Mine have and continually have to for sure.
I will say this.
I will no longer forfeit my portion at the table of God under the belief that I must so that another can eat.
He is not that kind of Father.
He loves and gives beyond our understanding.
He gives bread for life.
His Son is the Bread of life.
He is love… a love that is never void
It is better to give too much love to a child than to leave him in a place where he yearns for something he cannot articulate. Due to the absence of its expression, or the wrong expression of it.
How many little victors has God had throughout the sands of time?
More than can be counted.
They stand with you.
The hosts of heaven stand with you.
God stands with you.
Stand.
For you will be able to say, of yourself and with him.
Victory.
Victory is God’s because He is everything. It is not a victory like in a competition with winners and losers. It is better stated as Truth. The only battle is in our head and it is a foregone conclusion – we are His from the Beginning to Infinity. To struggle is useless, it only reinforces the suffering. Rest in His Peace.
