The Way of Hope

“Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

Phillippians 4:11-13, WEB

I have been thinking a lot of what to do.

I have been thinking about future directions and dealing with fears that have a lot of bite to them.

Apprehension.

The temptation to stay still and have things stay somewhat the way that they are.

I like change….

When it is a comfortable one.

When are changes comfortable?

Haha… very seldom in life.

At least the meaningful ones.

I want to go the distance and try new things.

For what is the point of existing if not to feel your breath being alive in you?

This I know.

I’ve been comfortable with self-imposed limits. Some I have put on myself over the years. And others I have accepted as being put on me from people outside my mind.

But here is the thing.

These limits I have accepted for myself are the very same ones that are the cruelest taskmasters to the dreams I have in life.

I feel a sense of safety with the net of fear that they cast over my dreams and emotions.

But I can’t go further listening to their rule.

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.”

Matthew 6:24, WEB

I know if I seek and follow the One of All Hope… I can face the limits that limit me and blow through them.

I can gain ground.

And I can find more of a sense of security.

Not in the accomplishments; rather, in the one who is with me helping me do the dreams and hopes of my heart.

Fear is a master indeed.

Christ is the pastor, provider, and defender of hope and life.

With whatever call he gives to me, I can rest firm in knowing that when I follow his voice….

I can and will win.

“For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen,” to the glory of God through us.”

2 Corinthians 1:20, WEB

If one thing is clear to me it is this….

This the way of hope.

Thank you for reading.

Blessings.

Hope gives our desires and dreams wings! Thank you Jesus!

Thank you Aaron, for sharing from a place of surrender.
Though surrendering to this Hope, seems more like a hot air balloon ride through this thing called life. Think about it…
It also seems more like a surrounding of his Goodness within our reach.
